London band, The Mystery Jets, caused a wave of hysteria in Mexico during their inaugural performance on South American soil. The band, supposedly unaware of their huge fan base over-seas, were as surprised as fans to see their position at the top of the bill at the MX Beat Festival.
The band, whose latest album Twenty One was produced by electro-wizard Erol Alkan, also played a radio station gig which, according to sources, ?turned into a bit of a riot?.
Speaking to NME.com, the band stated that obsessive fans had scanned images of the band on to t-shirts and stormed the radio station and festival, which also saw the likes of Cat Power, Sebastien Tellier, and Switch performing.
The band, who are concluding a world-wide tour of festivals and gigs, have signalled that they will soon be returning to London, to work on their third album.
