The final pennies have been counted and given to yours truly, ready to be exposed to the world. On Saturday night Paul McCartney and co. raised $3,000,000 for art-movie maker David Lynch. David Lynch’s meditation charity that is.

Saturday 4th April saw Paul McCartney take to the stage with old-times Beatle drummer Ringo Starr, beating out the classic ‘A Little Help From My Friends’ amongst other special performances.

Support came from Sheryl Crow, Donovan, Eddie Vedder, Ben Harper, Moby, Paul Horn, Bettye LaVette, and Jim James, who all performed at the “Change Begins Within Benefit Concert” at Radio City Music Hall.

The David Lynch Foundation pays for scholarships for students of meditation through-out the world, and funds research into how Transcendental Meditation techniques affect stress, learning, and behavior. McCartney, who has credited ‘Transcendental Mediatation’ as his rock in stormy weather over the last forty years, noted that “In moments of madness, it has helped me find moments of serenity”.
