This isn’t Your Typical Blues Music

Blues Gone South an act based out of Orange County and they’ve recently won the “2009 Blues Group or Artist of the Year” at the recent 5th Annual South Bay Music Awards just like a handful of new comers have done in the past. These guys have gone beyond those standards though making their mark labeling themselves as “Artist of the Year”. Now that is a real accomplishment for any musician. BGS headlined the first “Chicago Blues Night” at the House of Blues in Anaheim this past May showcasing their skills and creative ways and talents to anyone who witnessed their live presents. Next up came April and they were featured on the nationally-syndicated radio show, Blues Deluxe. This blues sensation has played constantly getting their rave and massive review count, counting up the charts. BGS has made their way around the Los Angeles County and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Fronted by harpist/vocalist Papa J (Jeffrey Hudson) and also featuring drummer Kofi Baker (son of legendary Cream drummer, Ginger Baker) BGS play a real smokin hot n sexy mixture of original blues songs as well as classical blues dishing out a Southside Chicago based style. The bad has rooted their style from the tradition of the early 20th century blues fueled by the energy and absolute adrenaline rush of the new millennium. All this excitement created by the front line performances along with unique tunes to balance it all out, makes this show far beyond the typical “blues” band. BGS is an act worth checking out because surely without a doubt you will find yourself instantly in groove with the music. Don’t forget to go catch these guys while they’re out on the road.
